Vale Patricia Smedley

With the passing of Patricia Smedley, the Club has lost another one of the long serving grass green pioneers, who played an important part in transforming our Club from the small country club in the 1960’s to the vibrant outer suburban club we have today.
Patricia joined the Club in 1961 and as an Associates Committee member was well respected by all and provided strong leadership in her roles of Associates Captain for 3 years (1974 – 1976) and Associates President for 2 years (1997 – 1998). During the period 1974 to 2004, she served 11 years on the Associates Committees in various roles. For her efforts she was rewarded by being elected as a Life Member in 2004 Patricia was a very talented golfer and fiercely determined competitor both in Stroke and Match Play. During the period between 1974 and 1996, she won 13 Associates Club Championships. This Club record is long standing and will be extremely
difficult to better.

Condolences to her boys Shane, Dean, Craig and families, for their sad loss.
